Re: mouth lining changes

I have been suffering with the condition for about 20 years. I've been to countless doctors, dentists and dermatologists. I've changed toothpastes, eat plenty of cheese and use milk in my coffee. I spend every day chewing the lining of my mouth and I'm sure it's not pretty to watch me distort my face so I can reach these rough spots with my teeth. Recently, I started to research Lichen Planus. It seems to match what I have except I can't find any literature that says the lining peels. Mercury, which is in tooth fillings can cause Lichen Planus and I've also learned that fillings can contain nickel which I'm highly allergic to. I'm haunted about some dental work I had done about 6-8 months prior to this condition manifesting itself. My next step is to have a biopsy to determine if this is indeed, Lichen Planus. I'd give anything to be rid of this miserable condition. At times it's just along the inside of my lips, but it also extends to the inside of my cheeks. I've noticed that when I've been on antibotics it disappears for a few months but then reappears. I wanted to share this information with you to see if any bells would go off that maybe you had dental work prior to your condition or perhaps the same allergy or if it disappears after taking penicilin. Hopefully, if others read this, we can find a correlation. If you are able, through research or doctors, to determine what this is, please post your information and I will gladly do the same. Twenty years of living with this horrible condition has been very depressing, I would not wish this on anyone.
