Re: Iodine induced goiter, how long does it take to get rid of it?
Pardon me for digging up such an old thread, but I just joined Curezone and this topic tweaked my interest."Goiter is caused by lack of iodine, not too much". Sure, but you do occasionally come across messages and testimonials on the internet with words to the effect "Help! I've been taking
Iodine for twelve months and now I think I've got a goiter!" Having myself taken
Iodine for years and had no problem with it at all (apart from early days detox blow back), I've often wondered what's going on with that.I mean maybe they have been eating goitrogenic broccoli and cauliflower sandwiches all day every day. On the other hand it occurred to me that whatever anyone knows about an"iodine pathway" (if there is such a thing) may be blocked. Or maybe it's not strictly an
Iodine pathway at all. Maybe it's a general blockage in the endocrine system which iodine factors into in some way. If so, the blockage is in the region around the neck/mouth. In so-called Eastern medicine, the so-called endocrine system runs parallel with a so-called chakra system (or "energetic body" system, if you prefer). With regard to that, it's interesting to me that in Tai Chi, to complete the Microcosmic Orbit it is a requirement to place your tongue on the roof of your mouth. Combining that with the information in the below linked video, the circumstantial evidence suggests to me that to free up an iodine/endocrinal/energy/whatever pathway, in the everyday world, the iodine user (who, because he/she is, so to speak putting more fuel in his endocrinal tank) should cultivate the habit of resting the tongue on the palate....
