Re: Iodine induced goiter, how long does it take to get rid of it?

no mention of selenium type and dosage.

the labs are unnecessary in my opinion, compared to how you feel. if the numbers were really off you would feel it, too. right?

selenomethionine will not tax your liver like regular selenium and will protect the thyroid from hydrogen peroxide formed in the uptake of iodine. 200mcg daily is fine but with increased Iodine comes an increased need for selenium. up to 800mcg per day of this form can be tolerated over long periods. 1,200 a day for short term to correct a problem or boost body burden.

maybe stop the goitrogenic plants like broccoli and cauliflower.

consistency is key.

the above advice assumes eating typical american food full of seed oils and corn syrup. avoiding those with a carnivore heavy diet with fresh fruit and animal fats will change everything for the better. low carb diets can correct other hormonal imbalances. a strict red meat and beef liver diet is the best Elimination Diet and will reduce inflammation and edema throughout the body. once all symptoms go away then methodically add in other things to see tolerance for them. you will find that vegetables are not human food.

be well.
