this post is a must read!!!
Excellent post, excellent work. Lots of deja vu in there for me! I have done more than one very long fast, and I would have to say that unless you have a very specific purpose for fasting past day 30, it is fairly redundant and can cause metabolic issues probably best avoided.
Break by the book. That OJ will taste LIKE IT FELL FROM HEAVEN--make it fresh and you will absolutely turn inside out!!! SIP IT! You will want to chug, but SIP that OJ, all day, as much as you like. Drink lots of extra water. You are still cleansing!
Second day, sip the OJ all day, and in the evening eat the vegetable soup, with the veggies SOFT, in MODERATION. Chew the vegetables very well. Burroughs says "rye wafers sparingly". Sparingly, and CHEW CHEW CHEW!
Third day OJ am, soup for lunch, steamed veggies, small salad OR fresh fruit at dinner. Eat sparingly, eat slowly, chew WELL!
Fourth day try OJ or lemonade for breakfast, salad for lunch, veggie soup for dinner.
Each day add a new item, like whole grain toast with the soup or salad--one slice, well chewed; a baked potato for dinner, simply dressed, with steamed broccoli. Add a small amount of brown rice with your soup or steamed veggies.
Eat this way until your normal digestion is fully established!
In my case, after the 60 day thing last summer, I was still breaking almost six months after the fast! And as I have said many times, my metabolism reset itself and two months into the break I began to lose hair. This went on for about two months--it all grew back, but was a weird thing!
I ate a cleansing, rebuilding diet for a full six months, and really loved it! I continued to exercise and eat this way, and kept the wonderful clean, clear, light feelings of the fast the whole time!
The rules are eat CLEAN, eat LIGHT, eat SLOWLY! Overeating is a major no-no, eating heavy (greasy, meaty, or just too much), and not chewing well enough. Beyond that, just keep doing it until your digestion is back to normal and VOILA!
It's a lot of work! Worth it? YOU BET! I loved reading your post.
The series has been a MUCH easier program, and equally rewarding in its way. I still plan another ten days this month, and want to do a day a week, three a month and ten twice next year for maintenance.
Big hug to you AND your husband, Madonna, and best to all of you out there cleansing,
Somer
