Re: Major DNA breakthrough...simple yet complex (hard to find since it's DNA related)!

Besides the B12 genetic defect, I have a few of the following factors.

"The following factors may put you at a higher risk of not getting enough vitamin B12 from diet alone:

- vegetarian or vegan diet
- over 50 years old
- gastrointestinal disorders, including - - - Crohn’s disease and celiac disease
- surgery on the digestive tract, such as weight loss surgery or bowel resection
- metformin and acid-reflux medications because it decreases calcium absorption and lowers gastric acidity
- specific genetic mutations, such as --MTHFR, MTRR, and CBS
- regular consumption of alcoholic beverages
- reduced calcium intake may cause low B12 levels due to the action of intrinsic factor, which is dependent on calcium channels"

Bad genes can turn on or off. You might have been born with this bad gene, but it didn't turn on until later in life. There are several different factors that can make a bad gene turn on or off.

If you have taken or you are taking regular B12 supplements, but you haven't noticed improvement, switch to the coenzyme type to see if it makes a difference. Also, make sure it's a trusted or not fake vitamin full of fillers. I remember wondering why my lips seemed better when I drank lots of regular milk...maybe it was the calcium. But maybe the bad gene wasn't turned on, yet.
