Re: Senile cataracts - curable with presbyopia eyedrops

YES
It is highly likely that nuclear sclerotic cataract could be cured by using lanosterol eye drops together with EV06 eye drops (renamed UNR844 by Novartis). EV06 contains lipoic acid choline ester and remains sufficiently long in the eye to restore flexibilty to the lens. It would probably allow lanosterol to reverse nuclear cataract.

But as OaW said - Alcon (a Novartis company) makes so much money from cataract surgery that they may never release EV06 (UNR844). After EV06 successfully completed Phase II clinical trials for presbyopia in 2016, the $465 million that Novartis paid for EV06 must have been worth it to stop EV06 eye drops from ever reaching the market. Just look at those glowing newspaper articles by Alcon.
"No, no, no - patients don't want an eye drop to cure their cataracts, do they? They'd much rather have the surgery"! LOL!

Oh, and by the way, don't forget that after the surgery, unless you have multifocal IOLs implanted, you will have permanent presbyopia which can no longer be corrected by multifocal eyeglasses (or by presbyopia eye drops).

CureZone readers, please let Alcon know how much you prefer cataract surgery to eye drops today! Call them now to show how much you love cataract surgery!
