Re: I get it, now
If Tansybelle were a 7 year old child, I would absolutely answer the question with as much kindness and compassion as I have. A 7 year old child doesn't have the same motivations that an adult does, and I am going to leave that statement open to any and all interpretations. Motive and intent speaks volumes about a person's behaviors, online, and offline.
Why isn't Tansybelle consulting a Biblical scholar, priest, or rabbi in these matters, then? Aren't any of her questions being answered by her church? Or, is "church" an unpleasant term on this forum?
Asking questions is one thing, but going down the road to absurdity is a distraction. This is a very simple concept to grasp: humans have free will; animals rely upon instinct to survive. Taking another person's life for convenience or entertainment is absolutely not the same condition as taking another animal's life for sustenance. What happens if a dog begins to kill for entertainment or sport? They are put down. Laws of conduct don't apply to them because they cannot think in the same ways that we humans do.
Tansybelle can choose whatever path she wants to go down. I'm no guide or leader.
