Re: Water fasting problems...please help!
Hi. This message of yours is 8 years old, so I hope that your problem was solved long ago.
Anyway, here is my own experience with both acid reflux and fasting.
About acid reflux: some people produce high, really high, amounts of gastric juice even when the stomach is empty. When the stomach gets full, the food mixes with the gastric juice; the reflux pain then gets better. You could check in your records if your "basal acid" (gastric acid when stomach is empty) was ever tested.
About fasting: personally, I enjoy the wonderful benefits of
Water Fasting but using the "intermittent fast". Three days a week, I have only one meal a day; the rest of the week, I can eat whatever I want. For me, it has worked perfectly: no more asthma, no more apnea at night, no more high cholesterol, no more high blood pressure... and my yoga has been better than ever. It's not magic; there is a medical and evolutionary explanation for all that. And I have been living with this great method for 5 years. Now, my doctor says that fast (even the intermittent one) is bad for the stomach and/or the esophagus when they are irritated which is now my case. So, I have to get better first and then resume the intermittent fast.
My hope is that you are fully cured and these two pieces of information are... just futile.
