Yes, but according to Moreless, that's no excuse for remaining "sick and diseased!" Apply that to his son, and see how that sounds! Moreless didn't know the past of those people he condemned. They could have had an accident too that brought them to an unwell state. Anything could have happened to them, things that they had zero control over. He did not know their stories and yet he would lay into them despite not knowing anything about how they got to where they were.
And what kind of bad choice did his son make to get crushed by farm equipment? See how all this is so ridiculous? Why not just have compassion for people no matter how they ended up unwell?
Also, although Moreless might have saved his son's life as you say, his son never completely recovered. Why not, if Moreless's protocol always works???
