Re: Why is Ongoing Repentance Necessary For A Christian?
what part of obvious dont people get?
god speaks only to individuals. thats none of anyone elses business. they should so like mary did and shut the f up. rarely does the lord send a prophet to speak for him.
you said it - he doesnt need to. it is for his own purposes if he does. its not for those to whom the prophet was sent.
jonah was surprised when his message from god to the ninevites was listened to and they repented. they would have repented anyway. jonah had something to learn and show us, too.
it all works together. but its pride and arrogance that produces these preachers and their proclamations and their followers. its like ball teams. people pick who they think will win and support them.
eh.
and you think you know what youre talking about:
"The subject under discussion (as I understood it) was whether a false prophet can still be a true believer with a valid ministry? I would argue that presuming to speak on God's behalf on matters that are explicitly proscribed by Scripture (date-setting being one of them) is sufficient grounds for disqualification as a teacher. But to conclude that such a person is beyond hope or redemption is a step too far. "
lolololol
