You hit the nail on the head!
That much loss, too quickly, will lead to stretch marks and sagging sking. I've been blessed with not having any stretch marks (though I've only lost 45
pounds last year) but I never got stretch marks from the birth of my son either (and I gained 70
pounds with him) ACK!
Your plan of 10 day on and 10 day off sounds like a solid (and healthy one). This is similar to what Robin Quivers did (though I believe she did 21 on and 21 off if I'm not mistaken). She too lost about 70 pounds.
It can be done - without a doubt. But I'd encourage that a long fast (as in the original post) be done under doctor supervision. Last year I rec'd my cardios blessing before embarking. I have an irregular heartbeat, so throwing my electrolytes off balance could be dangerous. Although not on the plan, I took daily supplements of magnesium and potassium per my doctor (as I'm still doing today). It keeps my ticker from going out of whack. I also take two heart meds as well.
Slow and steady loss is (in my opinion) the way to go if you want to see long lasting results.
Best of luck!
