Re: Unidentified parasite. Lab tests came back with no detections
Hi Shroom,
I appreciate the details response and questions asked.
I don't have many symptoms other than the visual disturbances. I sometimes have some slight discomfort and (sometimes) long lasting gas episodes that I think is unnatural.
My job has me traveling to collect soil samples. I also recently took a trip to the boundary waters in Minnesota where we camped and swam. (we've done this since I was a boy). I traveled to Argentine almost 8 years ago, and after the trip another student had gotten a parasite, and I've had nightmares/fears of a
parasite since then. I also had a pinworm inflection when I was a small boy. I took a few dosages of a prescription that seemed to work as the symptoms all went away. What I experience now is also much different from when I had pinworms.
Would it be normal for the lab tests to come back with no detection when I was confident I placed what I thought was the mucus and worms into the sample jars?
I'm also into power lifting and recently decided to cut a lot of weight. I've gone from about 215 to 190
pounds losing up to 2ish
pounds a week since probably december. I've done this before and In my opinion I've lost weight much easier and lost more strength than normal (deadlift from 550lbs to 450lbs ~ which seems like an extreme amount of strength to lose) . But I've also been running almost 25-30 miles a week, which I've never done before. So I'm not sure if this is useful information to you. I've dropped back on fast food, and generally eat 300-500 calories less than I had while I was at my peak weight.
Do the images I have below look any better to you? It looks like on one end of the "potential worm" there is a brown spot.
I hate to ask but would additional images of different samples help? I'm wonderfully appreciate that I found someone who may help
