Hashimoto Thyroiditis, Insomnia and Ashwagandha

Please help! My naturopath doctor prescribed ashwagandha for my severe insomnia and adrenal fatigue however, I was also diagnosed with hashimoto thyroiditis. I decided to research online to make sure it doesn't have any side effects but I found conflicting information. One site stated that Ashwagandha can increase the symptoms of autoimmune disorders because it stimulates the immune system. I honestly don't know who to believe. Also, I took the ALCAT testing and ashwagandha is on my mild reaction list. My naturopath doctor said that I can take mild reaction supplements but according to Cell Science System (the company who provided the test), I can only consume mild reaction food/herbs every 4 days. Can someone please advise me what to do? Thank you.
