When I was fighting a lot of parasites (since then I've been helped by a herb called Elecampagne, you can see my other posts on that) - I would also experience rapidly crawling, almost running, crawling sensations that would end with something going into my eyes at night. At times this would even wake me up. I found some research which said that there is a form of skin mite that can collect in the eyelashes. The study said that petroleum jelly placed on the eyelid eliminated 80% of these mites after one application. So I bought some "unpetroleum jelly" because I didn't want gas on my eyelids and lo and behold, those symptoms abated quite a bit. I also use colloidal silver eye drops which are very soothing.
