Re: Seeking help - is this a parasite?

I am sorry to be disappointing but albendazole will do really nothing. You will be wasting your money. I also think you are wasting your money and time on the gastro enterologist. These so called specialists know nothing of parasites.
I also agree that your celiac disease and your symptoms are all related to your infection.
Why dont you try reese's pinworm medicine which is an over the counter broad spectrum med? It flushes out a lot of worm families. You need to do an enema or a laxative afterwards. Examining your first stool after will give you a clue of what you might have. I suspect you might have several types. Usually a parasite is never alone.
It does look like a roundworm but that does not explain the sucker part, which is more a thing of flatworms. I would try the pinworm med and see what else comes out. If this is really a flatworm albendazole is not even the right drug you need to take, at least not by itself.
Dont waste your money on the albendazole prescritpion. On the internet it is cheaper and you can always buy it later. You need to do some research on the types of parasites you may pass and find a treatment direction. You will need to treat for months, depending on your infection, or maybe a year.
You can post a pic again for identification. Dont worry most people have parasites but they dont know. It is good you have found out. I am sure after you treat them your symptoms will get better.
