Seeking help - is this a parasite?

So this came out of me about a week ago. I've suspected I've had some sort of parasitic infection for a while. I had some really, really bad anal itching a couple of months ago. I was waking up in the middle of the night and rubbing myself raw to the point where I had to use my son's medicated butt cream just to get some kind of relief. Went to my gastroenterologist (I have celiac disease), and she had me take a tape test that turned up nothing.

I still have some itching, but nothing like it had been. Most recently, I've been having trouble sleeping through the night and a lot of pain in my lower abdomen, upper pelvic area on both side of my groin. Then this thing came out of me a week ago, so I bagged it up and took it to immediate care to try and get it tested.

Well, because it was the weekend, or because of the size of the specimen (about three inches), the lab said they were unable to test it and provide a definitive answer. The nurse for my primary care physician was just as frustrated as me, because it looks very much like a worm.

My question: What do you all think this thing is? From my short amount of Googling and research, it looks like a ropeworm, but I'm certainly no expert. And what should I do? I feel like I'm at my wit's end, because I feel like I've been operating at about 50% efficiency for months now, and I don't know what to do if I do have parasites.

Please, somebody ... help!
