Re: My Now Controlled EC (Exfoliative Cheilitis - Peeling Lips)
ECAccutane, sorry for posting late.
The first time I bought the Earth pearls they came with a coupon for a second bottle free. I think I went through like 3 bottles of it with me seeing something happening by the end of the second bottle starting on the third. The biggest change I noticed was the slow disappearance of the small red inflamed veins inside my lips.
I do want to state this very clearly that I am not endorsing the Earth Pearls Probiotic product in any way. I am merely just sharing my experience and what helped me to control my own personal case of EC. This product may, or may not work for you, just like with the other various treatments tried by other once heavy EC sufferers.
Please also keep in mind that I am not 100% cured. My EC is simply in a dormant state and does resurface from time to time, only it's not as bad as it initially was.
I saw your pic and your lips don't look that bad. Can you get an oral culture done with an oral pathologist just to rule out any excessive yeast or some other secondary microbial infection?
I think you should continue with the probiotic treatment. I honestly think any other probiotic would help but one thing that it needs to be is a type of timed release form. That is the one thing that separates the Earth Pearls from the other types of probiotics that I have found.
Also, another thing that wasn't mentioned was my unintentional fasting. It was like a dangerous type of fasting and I honestly don't know how I didn't black out or whatever from not eating anything for the most part of every day. My theory is that by fasting I might have been starving off the yeast (or other microbe) and making them more susceptible to being controlled by the other bacteria that keeps it in check. I have only been making educated guesses with how my EC came to pass.
I know that I was using Bepanthen, fasting, and taking the Earth Pearl Probiotics when I began seeing a change.
I tried other Probiotics before the Earth Pearls and they didn't work. So, I was almost discouraged completely from even continuing with a probiotic treatment.
The probiotic treatment had a positive result for me. But once again, it may or may not have a result for someone else. It depends on how far along that person's specific EC is and how their body is dealing with it.
However, trying something is always better than doing nothing.
