Considering teeth implants - need help!!

I lost my upper left side tooth and I delayed having the dental implants for probably 6 years because of my dental fear. I'm very much concerned about the procedure and dental_implants"the cost of dental implants. I heard bridging won't last for long and so decided to go with dental implants. I have scheduled an appointment with a dentist in Pearl Dental, Burlington for 31st of this month. I would like to know about the complications of the procedure. Is it painful? Will it give the same function of natural teeth?
