Re: Healing one lip at a time
Have you ever bitten the skin inside your mouth ? I have. I remember first biting off the skin on the inside of the mouth when this first happened, and then the lips started. This could explain the ''spreading'' theory somewhat, as if I picked off the top layer of the entire inside of my mouth at one point in time when the skin of the lips would then have nothing to attach to.. perhaps this is the case for some of us..
it is only natural for the mouth to heal from outside in as that is the area most exposed. A wound on the skin will always scab first to heal more sensitive and vulnerable areas underneath..
Perhaps brushing teeth and washing inside the mouth is slowing down the healing process!!
I find that in the morning the build up on my lips sometimes goes right inside my mouth.. but a lot of what could be newly formed skin is easily washed away when I brush and swish water in my mouth. Have you ever noticed your lips looking their best early morning? It all seems to go downhill from there for me. I'm glad you mentioned oil pulling :

I want to see what will happen if I barely disturb the inside of my mouth for 2-3days, only very gently swishing with coconut oil (antimicrobial) and then a final swish with water... bad breathe maybe hahaha, but if there is very very sensitive skin trying to heal over inside the mouth this would give it the best possible chance. If the inside of the mouth does not need special care then I'll stop focusing on it, I just want to know.
