Healing one lip at a time
I'm wondering if this would work as it would allow me to feel less anxious going out of the house and socialising. It's when both lips scab at the same time that is has the worst possible effect on the mind. Yes it may double the healing time.. but I can't see why one lip would not heal using the leave it alone/constant moisture..does it have to be both right away ?
Also, I think there is some confusion about EC spreading to other areas (beyond the vermilion border, for example).. Daniel Miller mentioned this and I see others here mention this when they attempt the leave alone/constant moisture method.. is ''spreading'' the right word though? I think what is happening is that the area around the lips/mouth are not being washed because people are trying to limit the amount of water contact with the lips.. so it's a build up of dead skin around the area caused from not washing the skin and not a ''spreading'' of EC. If you have ever worn a bandage or cast you will know what the covered area looks like without being washed for a long period of time.. surely this is the same thing.
The other thing is, some people say their EC started with only one lip and then the EC started happening on both lips.. as though to imply one became contamined.. I don't think this is true either. I think both lips were picked/nibbled simultaneously but one showed symptoms before the other, it's just that most people recall one lip being more problematic than the other. In my case I picked/nibbled/ripped at both of them with my teeth so I accept why both are equally as damaged and started showing at the same time...
any feedback is most welcome
