The 7000 is the way to go with a pre filter to get the solids before they go into the distiller.

Water hook up that can keep the ice maker full, and clean water at the fridge too.

With that pre filter you won't have much to descale. Filter good for a year.

I've been using white vinegar. Just cover the bottom, let it sit for a while and rinse. $2.59 a Gal at Walmart.
