Re: Magnificat...
Catholicism did not happen till the Goths and the Visigoths Sacked Rome and Leo I stood up during the sacking. The church was spread all throughout the Roman Empire, and the concept of a single pope really started there. So there was no authority accept that one guy stood up while his city was being sacked and claimed to somehow be tied to Peter and was a direct line to Christ. The Germans bought it and and did not utterly destroy everything. So who did the usurping? All luther wanted to do was to go back to the Augustinian days of the church. Before the indulgences, before the fake sacraments etc.
As for reading. Grace through what? Oh that word Faith
So how are we justified (saved)
Rom. 5:1, "therefore having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ."
There is that word again.
Rom. 9:30, "What shall we say then? That Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, attained righteousness, even the righteousness which is by faith."
Righteousness by what? Not that word again
Gal. 2:16, "nevertheless knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the Law but through faith in Christ Jesus, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we may be justified by faith in Christ, and not by the works of the Law; since by the works of the Law shall no flesh be justified."
Phil. 3:9, "and may be found in Him, not having a righteousness of my own derived from the Law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which comes from God on the basis of faith."
Sorry it is all aver the book
