Re: Magnificat...
The angles had free will... One third chose to not obey.
"Romans 8:7
7For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God’s law; indeed, it cannot. 8Those who are in the flesh cannot please God"
This has nothing to do with denying the existence of free will.
"Romans 6:
20For when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness. 21But what fruit were you getting at that time from the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death. 22But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the fruit you get leads to sanctification and its end, eternal life. 23For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Again this quote does nothing to refute the existence of free will.
We inherited Concupiscence (the tendency towards sin) from the fall of Adam and Eve. Even they had made the choice to eat of the apple or not. It's why they were thrown out of the Garden. Would God allow men to fall into sin without them having a choice in it. This would be a cruel God.
If you talk to people who were possessed they often had made deals with the devil. They made a pact for their very soul. We can choose Christ and be saved, or choose to lose our soul.
The denial of free will means that the Ten Commandments and every other commandment from God mean nothing since we will just fall into or out of sin without our choice in the matter. The same with the teachings of Jesus what is the point of them, if we have no choice in following them?
