Re: Myrrh for Trematodes (Flukes/Fasciola)
Let me clarify. I believe conspiracies exist, but not nearly as often as
Conspiracy theorists believe. I believe that what some think of as conspiracies are simply situations in which certain pressures cause groups of people to behave in a predictable way.
For instance: Mothers against pot. The whole legal/not legal pot discussion brings posts from women all over the internet wanting to protect their children. They have long discussions about the harm of pot. Then they vote against legalization (Iowa).
I think the same thing happens with the AMA. They (most of the time) think they are doing what is right. They have long conversations about what is right vs wrong for the people and they make decisions.
The big difference between these two groups is perceived power and status. No one would think that the Mom's were conspiring. But people more easily convinced the AMA is conspiring.
Conspiracy theorists have a victim mentality. They are paranoid of conspiracies from those who have positions of power. They feel powerless. They are angry and they want you to feel angry too. And to do that, they try to make you feel as much of a victim as they feel.
I have no interest in feeling like a victim. We are all victims in some ways, but the difference is whether or not you go around wearing the mantel of a victim like it is a royal robe.
