I like and appreciate your excitement. Yes, the glasses are in my own home and my children and I do these experiments to learn. I think water is going to be a huge problem for human race.

1. Baking soda was added after boiling the water.
2. The tap water was boiled.

Your store bought water is acidic, no doubt. I have also tested many of the major water brands, they all range from 5.0 to 6.5 on pH scale. I say boil all types of water before drinking. It will not make any difference to the distilled variety.

I just want to remind all readers is that high Alkaline Water is not to be consumed on regular basis, it is equally corrosive. I know someone who basically ruined there stomach lining by consuming baking soda everyday, eventually he died.

Yes, Alkaline Water with baking soda is very good for cancer elimination.
