Hookworms may be easy to kill--but only with a systemic med such as ivermectin or albenza. They are in and attached to the colon, but their source of food is blood. This worm is not large, but it can do a lot of harm and can cause anemia and nightsweats. Don't believe pyrantel will kill them since it is not systemic.
I had a hard time getting rid of whipworms. Ivermectin did not seem to kill them. Albenza did kill them for me. I cannot say if pyrantel will work since I was rid of the whipworms before trying pyrantel.
