I agree. I couldn't find that thread, but I have singed up with two counseling agencies. I'm really quite sure it has to do with the husbands my mom chose. My father is really mentally ill and not treated and treated me like gold while throwing in a lot of hurt. Then my step dad was kind of the same, but after a while just got worse and worse until he started hitting me. I finally moved out, and I still miss my dad. I don't miss my step dad though :P. I also saw my mom be passive and just take all the crap and she still does, although has nothing to do with my dad, nor do I. So yeah my parent model was: abuse and being passive about it. Tweet
