iodine and iron

is anyone taking Iodine for an iron problem? high or low?

you see, my dad has a genetic disease known as hemachromatosis. iron builds up in the body. he has been taking Iodine for years now. he used to have to give blood (thats how they get the iron down) but he hasnt had to soon after starting iodine. he takes 8 drops of SSKI a day. he is 81 and very active in his yard and shop.

also, there were studies being done in australia about the effect of orthoiodosupplementation on low iron conditions.
