Thyroid Maze

I agree that Iodine is must needed in our diets but getting the correct amount from the proper source is critical. Many other countries have tried to increase their Iodine in the food and in water supplies but the studies showed over time those populations actually got sicker.
The reason for this reaction has many layers but will touch on a couple:
1. 80% of people with thyroid issues are Autoimmune. Therefor Iodine in that state in many cases by itself can cause a term called thyroid storm. This is not a good reaction for someone. In many cases Selenium with iodine or selenium by itself is needed and then possibly slowly adding iodine in. Every person responds different.
2. Thyroid is NEVER a just a thyroid problem. There is always someone lurking in the back ground. In my experience this is either viral, leaky gut, hormones and, or an adrenal issue/blood Sugar issue. In some cases its all the above.
Getting the right tests to determine what is working correctly as well as what is not is vital to correcting any health problem.
