Does Iodine work for Fibroadenomas?
My wife (26.y.o) was recently diagnosed (mammogram and biopsy) with a large 4cm fibroadenoma in her right breast. The course of action suggested by doctors seems to be surgical removal only. They don't know (or won't say) why these occur or if there's a better way to deal with the situation.
However, neither of us are happy about having a surgery done. I've been reading up a lot about this breast disease and have chanced upon
Iodine supplementation for hormone balance (by correcting thyroid function).
However, most articles talk about
Iodine helping those with fibrocystic breast disease. There's little information on whether
Iodine supplementation would help those with Fibroadenomas.
Has anyone here had success (or know of anyone) with treating Fibroadenoma with Iodine (and other supplements and any diet-changes) ?
To start, I've removed all lotions and sprays with estrogen mimicking chemicals and have purchased glass bowls to replace plastic bowls used to heat food in the microwave.
I've also started her on Vitamin E and C and have ordered
Lugol's Iodine as well.
Your suggestions and advise are highly appreciated
