By the World's standards I do not have a good head on my shoulders, but thank you for your kind words. I hear no tone to your post...you are just debating me and that is ok, that is why we are here. If you are trying to tell me that you have lost respect for me due to my comment, then I guess I need to take note of why that is.
For I am comparing what the bible says about God spitting a "church" out of His mouth...the lukewarm, that is. Revelation 3:16 So this applies to both gay and non-gay christians. If I'm referencing the bible then I'm not talking about the World's law. These are people who call themselves christians.
A christian who is lustful...knows they are sinning and repent. An angry christian, who allows their anger to lead them into sin...knows they fell...and they repent. However, if that same lustful or sinfully angry christian states that it's not a sin to do so and chooses to continue...that is being lukewarm. That is compared to gay christians as well who feel there is no sin in a gay lifestyle. They are making a decision against God and His word...on purpose. They don't need God or His Way...they live life the way they want to.
I disagree with this notion that a church is a hospital for the hurting. It's a family of hurting people who are seeking God's will. There's a difference. There is so much dysfunction in families these days, most would not even know what that means. The prodigal son did not respect his Father enough to do it His Way. He had to go out into the world and find out if there was a better way to live. It was only when he compared his new life to the good life he had left, and that was offered to him freely, did he realize what his Father had the best Way of life all along. He came back broken and repentant...knowing he had made the wrong decision and wanted to be restored and brought back into the family life again. The Father was joyfully waiting for him. Did he still have the scars of a sinful life all over him? I'm sure he did...but he came back...just as he was...but with a heart that wanted what the Father wanted.
