Re: When in doubt, choose to love others

It's not okay to call yourself a 'Gay Christian'. So once you call yourself a Christian, there should be no sin left on you, is that what she is saying? Yet there are people who are Angry Christians. Can you call yourself a Christian and have anger problems? There are Christians that have lustful desire even if they don't act on it, it's still a sin as Jesus taught. Can you call yourself a Christian and still have lustful thoughts? Jesus taught us to love every single person as He loves us. If there is one person that you have imperfect love for, you are breaking the commandments of Christ. Yet people think it's just fine and dandy to still call themselves a Christian even thought they are breaking the specific and clear commandments that Christ gave us. Most Christians have a big problem with hypocrisy because they believe that Jesus has covered their sins and does not require perfection from them if they have some "small" sins as long as they have accepted Christ. Yet, because someone still sins with homosexual behavior, they somehow are not covered by the sacrifice of Christ, even if they have accepted Christ in the same manner. If you can't call yourself a Christian within the sin of homosexuality, then you also can't call yourself a Christian if there is any other sin inside of you no matter how small. Therefore if people that are gay cannot consider themselves Christians, then almost no one that now considers themselves Christians can declare themselves a Christian. Again it comes down to 'let he that is without sin cast the first stone'.

So you have to make a choice, only people that are perfect can call themselves Christians, or anyone can call themselves Christians that have accepted Christ, regardless of what sins they commit, but you can't have it both ways, saying people that commit some sins can call themselves Christians, but people that commit other specific sins (judged to be worse by the gospel according to man) cannot call themselves Christians. Personally, I think none of us should be declaring ourselves as Christians. Christ knows who are His and who are not, regardless of our own opinion on the matter. It is the fruit that declares us as Christ's or not.
