Nearly all homes in the U.S. have a vapor barrier on the ground under the house. It would be best if you could leave some air space between the vapor barrier and the wood or it will rot.

Sounds like you are aware of the humidity requirements for mites to multiply. 40% is the magic number. Below that they supposedly don't multiply. Springtails or mites, either one you are better off with lower humidity.
