Dehumidifying Residence - Skin Parasites

I have bought myself a Dehumidifier and ran it for 24 hours so far. After speaking to a company who specialises in Moisture Reduction, demudifiers work best when the temperature in the room is above 22 degrees. As soon as I put the oil heater on, it worked much better.

The humidity inside my house was almost 60%. I got it down into the low 40's, but that's not low enough to kill skin parasites in the environment. I am returning this one and buying a more powerful one that will do the whole house at once. It circulates the air in the house three times in 24 hours. It will be $600 Au.

Also I found a very thick plastic film at the big hardware store. Builders Film. It is usually sold to line concrete slabs with.

It is very wide and thick and comes in a huge roll about fifteen feet wide (and that is folded over twice so the width is 30foot ) for $100 Au.

I am going to buy it and use a big staple gun to attach it perfectly tightly to the whole underside of the floorboards of my house. Keeping it tightly attached to the joists etc and leaving no gaps.

That way any moisture from the soil underneath will be unable to enter the house. I can take my time in removing the soil then.

Just thought I would update for anyone interested in this area.
