That may be what dentists want to tell you, but that is not entirely true.
First, there is no such thing as never.
My wife had dental problems worse than that. She was so bad that no regular dentist would see her. She had to go to a specialist for years at great expense.
When we started seeing each other, I convinced her to go on full flush niacin. Her specialist appeared shocked and amazed at the improvement that she showed in just a few months.
While it is not the case of nothing can be done, it may be a case of someone just not doing what needs to be done.
One of my favorite sayings is "You can lead a horse to water, but you can not make him drink."
