Unexpected dry fast
Hello, I am currently 68 hours into a dry fast. I did not really have a plan going into this. I would love some feedback from anyone who has gone through a dry fast.
I have fasted in the past, a 21 day Dr supervised
Water Fast a few years ago. Sporadic 24 hour water fasts, and regular intermittent fasting. I am planning a 40 day
Water Fast on Sept 9th, that's when my kids go back to school.
I just learned about dry fasting a few weeks ago and was completely amazed. I honestly belived the human body could only survive 72 hours without water! It's something you hear over and over again. I was excited about trying it, and had planned on starting my
Water Fast in September with 48-72 hours of dry fasting.
I just saw my Dr on Tuesday to discuss my fasting plan, I asked her about dry fasting. She was not familiar with it, but was supportive of me trying it. Her advice was to listen to my body, if I felt good then go for it.
I came down with the flu, and did not really feel that eating was making me feel better. I decided it was the perfect time to fast. The conversation with my Dr was encouraging so I figured why not?
I can't say that I got over my flu any faster, I am still feeling a little sick. But then who knows how long I would have felt awful without fasting.
I tried to stick with a true dry fast, but I have been brushing my teeth with a damp tooth brush, and cleaning my face with the oil clenching method. I had to go to the store today and washed up a bit, but no deoderant.
I do feel a bit weak, but I can't really tell what's from the virus or the fast. I have had minimal hunger pangs, and almost no thirst. Last night I felt my sleep shift, I am now sleeping very lightly. Today is the first day I have any energy. My breath is awful, and today my toung is coated. I have quite a bit of growling in my stomach. Today was my first BM. I have been urinating on average of four times a day. Now that i have some energy I am planning on dry skin brushing from here on out, and using castor oil packs.
Yesterday 6/18/2015 I took my BP, 105/75. Today 6/19/2015, both times I took it 90/70. I have dropped 2.5 lbs sense yesterday. I was simply to ill to even think about vitals at first.
I am keeping a video journal and really enjoying this prosses.
I have been taking things one day at a time. I plan to dry fast untill tomorrow morning, that will be 84 hours. I then plan on
Water Fasting for an aditional 3-5 days.
It is exciting to pass the 72 hour mark!
