IF the INFESTATION IS MITES or you think I it is mites. Few of us have proof. You need to treat your environment.

FLOORS ETC.

BORIC ACID - not Borax - is the same stuff as in Roach Prufe.

You can buy it on ebay cheap. About $40 for a kilo in Australia.

Or just buy Roach Prufe if in US. Sprinkle a fine layer all over the floor and in rugs and leave there until you are cured.

Mix in a spray bottle with water. About a tablespoon in a bottle and spray your sheets every morning and let them dry. Spray your furniture. Put cushions in the dryer.

Sprinkle Boric acid all over pets beds and anywhere they lie and near their food bow.

It is better than DE.

It is no more toxic than table salt .

If was used in Granma's time for eye infections. I got thrush from all the Antibiotics and I soaked a sponge in a pinch of boric acid and water and used that of half an hour twice a day . Thrush gone in two days.

CLOTHES
- A tablespoon of washing soda = sodium carbonate = same stuff as in Arm & Hammer added to your wash and let soak for half an hour kills them in your clothes.

SHOES
- sprinkle your shoes with Boric acid, it will kill any athletes foot as well or keep your shoes in a sealed bag with a Hot Shot Pest Strip when you take them off.

CAR.
- Do the floor of your car with the Boric acid powder and keep it there until you are cured.

SKIN AFTER IT'S OVER
- Dermaid or other over the counter steroid cream rubbed in each scar 2 or 3 times a day for a few months will reduce the redness of scars to normal skin colour
- Raised nodules will dry out and be able to picked out when the mites are all dead and the inflammation has gone
- You can get them cut out if you want but if you wait a while they will dry and be able to be removed by yourself
- Retin A cream will possibly restore your skin to its former state more quickly
- The nest material of the mites turns the tissue underneath the skin into a thickened stringy tissue with no sensation in it. Like a woven basket.

This will take 6 - 9 months to be pushed by the body's normal skin growth to the surface where it can be finally sloughed off gradually in the normal skin growth process.

HOW LONG CAN THEY LIVE IN CLOTHES ETC.
- About nine months
- Keep a bottle of BB Benzoyl Benzoate available at pharmacies
- if you take anything out of the cupboard you have not used or worn and you feel an irritation or itch scratch the BB into the area. It kills anything that has tried to burrow into the skin.
Until you are cured and healed keep a DEET based insect repellent on your skin whenever you go outside.
Stay away from other people's dogs, you never know which ones carry mites.

The funny smell can come and go during the time of treating. I think it is an indication of dead mites rotting high up in the sinuses. YIKES!

Strangely, I did read that "phantom smells" are a sign of early Lyme disease. Perhaps the bacteria the mites release causes the smell, so we experience it when we get a load of the bacteria as they die AND people who get Lyme also experience it because they have high loads of the bacteria.

All the more reason to take Doxy for 6 weeks JUST IN CASE.
