Feelings may come and go. When we are depressed, we may not feel the love of God or the love of our family. That is why you see people commit suicide so often. They believe if they can't feel it...it's not really there. However in many cases, they really do have family and friends that care and love them.
What we have to do is trust in the promise of His love. Believe. Worship and love to God is a wonderful way of "feeling" but it's not always the way people feel every moment. He promised he would always be there for us as we endure to the end in Christ. We take that promise with us where ever we go.
I know trapper doesn't like this being said like this because it never mentions doing good things....good works. However he thinks he achieves righteousness by doing these good things. Instead of giving God all the glory. There is no point talking to him about doing the wonderful works of the Holy Spirit driven life, if he gives himself the glory. That is not showing trapper love, by not telling him the truth about his over emphasis on works. Don't get me wrong. I'm all for works...lots of works...however it is because of the Holy Spirit moving us to do them...not because it will make us righteous. We take the righteousness of Christ with us. We wear it as a white robe and we move into doing good works from there...but those good works are not what makes us righteous.
Yes, God moves us to good works. We see needs and we help and do, and have motion to our love. When we do for others, we are also doing a loving thing to God. There is no need for animal sacrifices...the blood of Jesus paid it for all times. There is nothing we can do for God, except put Him first and foremost and then love others as ourselves...which in turn comes back and shows love to God. How simple of a system of agape love.
So when it comes to love....what is the most important thing we want to get across in this forum? Is to trust in His promise. The true agape love of Christ crucified.
