Yes, some forms of mercury (Hg)--organic Hg from fish and vaccines can, probably elemental Hg from "silver" fillings as well. I assume inorganic Hg would not move into the child at a high rate.

A noted autism doctor and mother of a child who greatly improved with treatments that included frequent dose oral chelation made the following comments.

1. had 21 Amalgam fillings in my mouth while I was pregnant
2. ate tuna at least 3 times a week while pregnant
