I haven't read too much on alkaline or acid diets so I wasn't really sure how to answer, but google says "An alkaline diet emphasizes alkaline foods such as whole fruits and vegetables and certain whole grains, which are low in caloric density."
THe diet does emphasize a lot of veggies, but other than that it's not so strict. You just have to do some clean eating (no junk food, avoid preservatives , etc). THere are a lot of clean eating recipes for junk food out there that I've used on the diet and I was still ok.
