Electric charge is a symptom, and perhaps part of the parasite's M.O., but it isn't the disease. My personal reasons why: Anthelmintics are medicine, the Stonybrook research showed that I had lyme before I tested positive for it, and I've seen too much bizarre debris from the skin and stool. But thanks for calling attention to the underappreciated symptom.
I can't find any accounts of any medical condition that describe how charged I was when I had full-blown symptoms for a couple weeks in '11. Hair straight on end, shocking everything. Now it is subtle, I just dislike being near microwaves in use and have to avoid putting my hand over smartphone charger ports.
