Are there any lawyers among us?

I got a traffic ticket and have scheduled it for trial by jury. I have never done anything like this before, but the price of tickets is so high these days, I am no longer willing to pay them. I'd rather sit in jail and have a taxpayer paid vacation than support city cops who are conducting highway robbery.

I may not know enough to get very far in this process because I have no training in how to be a lawyer, but I would like to make it at far as possible.

I have a pre-trial hearing on December 3 and have written a motion of discovery. I am not sure if it is better to use certified mail or take this thing directly to the city clerk. Do they mail the requested documents to you, or present them to you in person when you meet with the prosecution?

Should I file the motion of discovery before or after my pretrial hearing? If before, should I give the prosecution a copy of it at the pre-trial hearing?

This is what I am asking for~

Radar maintenance logs from October 14, 2014 until October 30, 2014 for the radar equipment that was used to clock the speed of my vehicle on October 24, 2014

The two most recent radar calibration certificates for the radar equipment that was used to clock the speed of my vehicle on October 24, 2014

The police officer’s most current certificate of training in radar operation and calibration

A list of all the traffic tickets issued by the officer during the month of October 2014, including the date, time, alleged violation and disposition, if there has been one.

A copy of all videos, photos, dispatch tapes, police logs and other relevant material that the prosecution intends to present in this case

The vehicle number of the police car that was used, and the serial number of the radar equipment that was used, to clock my speed on October 24, 2014

A copy of the Police Department's rules, regulations and/or guidelines regarding the use, operation, and policies for speed detection equipment

The brand name and model number of the speed detection equipment that was used to clock my vehicle speed on October 24, 2014
