Re: Intestinal Flukes: Pictures Included

An update for anyone interested. I scheduled an emergency appointment with my original doctor (that I saw a year ago for the constipation, bloating, leaky/itching, etc.) which was a couple hours away. Had another painful stool several hours after the horrible doctor's appointment and it was LOADED with these things. It also left me sore and in pain around my anus/rectum area. I have no idea what is causing this pain exactly but it is definitely lingering and painful today as well.

So after explaining myself to this doctor he told me was unfamiliar with flukes. Off to a bad start. I showed him a few pictures and he asked how long I'd been seeing them in the stool. I answered every single stool since I first checked on Sunday. He was completely open to the possibility and ordered a parasite specific stool and blood test. Also prescribed me medication to combat the intestinal fluke. He said if the tests turn up negative and the things in the stool turn out not to be flukes, no harm. Better to try. A completely different experience altogether.

Of course none of the pharmacies in the entire area carry the medication and would have to order it Monday. Started with an M. Instead of waiting until Monday they prescribed a more generic version to take until the next appointment.

Still waiting for it to be filled. First stool sample turned in already. God willing this will provide some clarity and relief to the situation.
