Doctor's appointment went not well.

After informing him of my ongoing GI issues and then mentioning discovering these red/pink elongated things in my stool, I asked if it could be flukes. He dismissed this outright. I showed him a picture (he had no desire to see any others after showing him one) and said it was normal bowel material. He then stated that flukes cannot be seen with the naked eye and would require a microscope.

Now I'm not familiar with this subject whatsoever but I was a little taken aback. Can anyone comment on this? Can intestinal flukes not be seen without a mircoscope or enhancement? What is in my stool if not something out of the ordinary?
