Hi Samster, Thanks so much for sharing! I have 3 fibroids - a 10cm calcified (apparently not causing any trouble), and 2 fibroids in my uterus wall buldging through to the lining which have been causing me progressively heavier periods since i miscarried 2 years ago. Like you i was fearful of seeking help because of so much talk of hysterectomies, until I ended up having to go to ER and have 4 units of a blood transfusion. I am now booked in for a hysteroscopy in 3 1/2 months-where the fibroids are removed via the cervix using a hysteroscope. I have been prescribed synarel spary - a GnHR - to shrink the fibroids somewhat before the procedure. Were you prescribed any medication before your op?
