Re: Acne starting around age 20, won't clear
I had
Acne since age 12-28, i did cleanses, changed diet over and over and over, eliminated this, that and the other - i targeted all areas of what i was putting IN and ON my body.
It didn't make much difference to the
Acne - except like you, one cleanse would clear it up a bit, but then the next cleanse there would be no change.
Fast forward 10+ years and having a better, deeper understanding of the endocrine system i now firmly believe
Acne is a hormonal imbalance, in MOST people.
The reason why it clears on the first
parasite cleanse is because it is a 'stress' to the body to cleanse in any way, and therefore the adrenal/thyroid/testes/ovarian system gets disrupted to try to 'accomodate' the stress - by primarily pumping out more adrenalin and therefore cortisol which also 'upgrades' the thyroid and ovarian hormone output temporarily giving you more hormones than is your 'natural' hormone state.
Oftentimes with women estrogen is predominant and therefore progesterone is altered alongside testosterone levels.
It's not unusual at all for women with PCOS (polycystic ovaries) to have acne due to the higher testosterone levels they experience...alongside the estrogen toxicity coupled with progesterone deficiency.
Your monthly periods is you are female and symptoms associated with the cycle will give you clues if your issues are hormonal.
Problem is with women - is we experience so many hormonal swings we think our symptoms, which generally get worse as we age, are 'normal' and we never think of hormone imbalances.
I'd advise a saliva hormone test - to rule out hormone imbalance.
For you never to have had acne and then it suddenly starting is a red flag that hormones have shifted for some reason.
