Re: Why cessationism is unblical, irrational and boring.
But we have not been debating Pentecostalism all this time. What does Pentecostalism have to do with any of all we've said? Yes, at times Pentecostalism has been the debate subject, but not this time. Now Ed has tried over and over to make it somewhat about that, as far as the continuationism, but all that really doesn't have anything to do with what we have been saying. This all came about because of the warnings we have been making about the NAR and the Word of Faith movement. And then Ed came in and started this debate by saying that I had spent all this time putting up warnings about the NAR and he wanted to show the good side of it.
Well there is no good side, and that is what we have been debating.
We are not debating continuationism here, although no doubt that could be a good debate.
The NAR and the Word of Faith movement need to be abandoned altogether by all true Christians. There should be no questions about this after all the evidence has been presented, and all the other evidence that is coming in by the day.
And we probably need to define what THE BABY is because I always thought what THE BABY meant when people said that, was the signs and wonders, spiritual gifts, etc. and so that's why I was saying, there is NO BABY because I don't believe God is giving any true signs and wonders, or gifts to these heretical movements. If you mean THE BABY is the church, then yes, I will agree that there are lost sheep mixed up in these heretical groups and we need to do everything we can to warn them and lead them out of there. That's what all this is about for me, and we are called to do this.
So yeah, we are going to have to define terms better. No wonder all the confusion. lol But I don't think Rainy means THE CHURCH when she talks about THE BABY IN THE BATHWATER.
I'm not yelling either, just thought I'd go along with the style of your post. :)
