Re: Aircraft carrier model to prophetically represent(edit)

Ed provide the passages to support this!

This is the view supported by even most continualists. So it is not calvinistic or cessionalist issue

No the translators did fine. Sometimes it is fantastic to go to the original docs and drive that point home. For example showing that Paul called them bishops and deacons and this had significance

From my prior post

The make up of the New Testament churches was: Saints, bishops, appointed servants which English Bibles call "deacons."

"Paul and Timotheus, the servants of Jesus Christ, to all the saints in Christ Jesus which are at Philippi, with the bishops and deacons" (Philippians 1:1)

Showing what the greek reflects for example BISHOP is the Greek word "Episkopos." Which means an overseer just enforces this biblical concept.

Phil. 1:1, 1 Tim. 3:2, Titus 1:7, 1 Peter 2:25, Acts 20:28 all use this title.

Also from my prior post

Ephesians 4:11. Gives the New Testament lists of servants in the churches. The last position stated as given by the Lord to the churches is "pastors and teachers." Note the other names state God gave "some" then the name. It does not say, "some" pastors and some teachers. Most believe the reason is it is the same position of "pastor-teacher."

Pastor: word means "poimen" which refers to a shepherd who takes care of sheep or flocks, It means more than one who feeds them, but who protects, looks out for, and will give his life for them. Pastor is to guide as well as feed the flock.

The pastor is to care for and feed the sheep. God's sheep are then to follow him as he follows the Lord. The concept is that as shepherd he is to guide the congregation.

Jesus tells Peter numerous times in John 21 that if he loves him he will feed and tend his sheep. (Yup shepherd sheep model again)

The video you posted makes a mockery of this, which does not reflect the bibles biblical model

Remember, Christ gave a parable of a shepherd and sheep.

Notice nothing is being re translated, just enforced.

As for the The Passion Translation

Lets have some fun with it in my next post
