Re: What is the Trinity?
No offence Hunter, but when you put it that way, you really make it sound like the doctrine of man. For me, I know the concept of the Trinity is true because it resonates in my heart and I have experienced contact with the Holy Spirit which I know to be true and I have experienced contact with Christ. I feel both of their presence as God and I also have faith that God the Father is also God, though I have not experienced him.
The way modern Christianity has come to understand the Trinity is by man and fortunately in this instance they got it right. Unfortunately, man has also created a lot of other 'doctrine' that is completely false and if we just believe it all blindly we will be led astray. I like to stick to the words of the scripture and trust my experiences with contact with God, as opposed to believing the doctrines of man.
So Chaz, I would say continue what you are doing with your search and ask for the guidance of the Holy Spirit and if your experiences guide you to understand the Holy Spirit, Christ, and God the Father are all distinct entities but all still God, then that is your proof. I can tell you in my own life that when I feel the presence of Christ, He is absolutely 100% God. I will never accept any proof, except what God shows me in my heart.
