Starting Iodine with Hashimoto's?

Hi everyone,
I've just started Iodine protocol a few weeks ago. I'm already having some detox symptoms so I know this should be the right path, but I'm worried about damaging my thyroid because of Hashimoto's. Any advice on how to manage Iodine protocol with Hashi's?

About me:
Dx Hashimoto's (antibodies)
Clinically euthyroid/no thyroid meds
Suspect subclinical hypothyroid
Low stomach acid
Dysbiosis of gut flora/SIBO
food sensitivity /leaky gut
Chronic bloating and nausea
Migraines
Minor immunodeficiency

I started Iodine at a super low dose - around 300mcg, which is about 1/10th of a drop of 2% Lugol's. I had a sore throat which healed immediately with selenium.

Over a few weeks I've increased the dosage to 4 drops 2% Lugol's. Maybe I will decrease the dosage back down to 3 or 2 drops.

Since increasing the dose, I have a daily sore and swollen throat especially on the left side. It is no longer better with Selenium. It feels worse in the evening, and also when I get dehydrated and when I take a hot shower. It feels better when I drink plenty of water and take Sea Salt .

I also have detox symptoms of frequent sometimes painful urination, and also coughing up mucous.

Is this pain in my throat from my thyroid going back to work and looking for iodine? Or am I causing myself damage? How can I tell the difference? I am scared of giving myself a goiter.

I suspect I may be deficient in Zinc and I'm planning to start a supplement this week. I've read this is good for thyroid as well.

Thank you for reading. Any advice at all is appreciated! Have a good day.
